Welcome to the Kennedale ISD 2023 Bond Program website. On May 6, 2023, the voters of Kennedale ISD (KISD) approved three propositions for broad sweeping improvements to KISD schools. The $98,605,000 program will address capacity challenges and provide programmatic enhancements across the District while also addressing much needed capital improvements to our aging schools. This website has been designed to provide the community with regular updates of the program’s progress. Check back regularly for updates!
Current Headlines
Roofing Project Wrapping Up
The bond program included roofing upgrades to Kennedale High School, Kennedale Junior High School, JAA Early Childhood Center and RF Patterson Elementary School. The projects have been completed, and the overall project is under budget. The engineer is working with the roofing contractor to finalize project close-out and the contractor is responding quickly to warranty issues.
HVAC & Lighting Projects Wrapping Up
The bond program included replacement of a majority of HVAC units District wide at every campus and support facilities as well as upgrades to LED interior lighting. The project has been completed. Overall these projects are under budget and a big success. E3, the contractor for the District wide project is assisting with warranty issues.
District Wide Summer Additions & Renovations
Interior renovations have been completed at Kennedale Junior High School, Delany Elementary School and Patterson Elementary School. Contractors brought in the necessary resources to complete the extensive renovations over the summer. Most of the interior renovations at Kennedale High School were completed, but a portion of the 400 wing is currently being completed. Work on the additions at the High School, Junior High, and Patterson continue are projected to be completed during the spring semester. However, it’s likely that the new Culinary Lab at the high school will be completed and turned over before the end of the year.
